YEHLIU NATIONAL GEO PARK
When most people think of Taiwan, they always think of Taipei; Taiwan’s capital city, Taipei 101 building or commercial area in the night as many people don’t believe that Taiwan has many beautiful natural places to discover. So this issue we bring you to ‘YehliuNational Geo Park’
Natural Power YehliuNational Geo Park is famous for its outstanding rock landscape caused by earth movement, sea erosion and weathering which contribute to the formation of such a rare and stunning geological landscape.The best known of Yehliu that attracts most tourists is the Queen’s Head, one of rock formations that are in the shape of woman’s head with a crown on top. The word ‘Yehliu’ means wild willows that grow in nature and it is also the word used to call thieves who stole rice in the past because this area was used as rice transportation’s port. Thieves always used the sharp bamboo tube to stick the rick sack so that the rick could slip out. When the rice traders saw them, they shouted ‘Yehliu’ to make others know. However, some people called this place a ‘devil cape’ which has the same meaning as ‘PuntoDiablos’ in Spanish.
Yehliu is a cape of about 1.5 kilometers long reaching into the sea. When the sky is clear, it is very beautiful as a blue color of the sky contrast with a light brown color of the rock, but it is quite hot and make you sweat as well.Therefore, you should bring your hat and don’t forget to take enough batteries and memory cards because you may use them a lot.
Note: • From Taipei, start from MRT Taipei Main Station and try to find Taipei West Bus station to buy a ticket. It takes around one hour. • More interesting places to visit around such as Yangmingshan National Park, Song Shan mountain, Jiufen. • Airlines from Bangkok to Taipei such as China Airlines,Air Hong Kong, TrainsAsia Airways, EVA Airways, Tiger Air.

Natural Power อุทยานธรรมชาติชาติเย่หลิว (Yehliu Geo Park) มีชื่อเสียงในฐานะอุทยานสวนหินธรรมชาติ ที่เกิดจากการเคลื่อนตัวของเปลือกโลกผสมกับการกัดกร่อนของน้ำทะเล และแรงลมนับล้านปี กลายมาเป็นหินที่รูปร่างสวยงามและแปลกตา สัญลักษณ์หนึ่งของเย่หลิวที่ทำให้นักท่องเที่ยวอยากมาเยือนที่นี่ ก็คือการมีโอกาสได้ยลหินก้อนใหญ่ที่ธรรมชาติสลักเสลาให้จนมีลักษณะคล้ายศีรษะของหญิงสาวสวมมงกุฏ ซึ่งเป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในนาม หินเศียรราชินี หรือ Queen’s Head
คำว่า เย่หลิว หมายถึงต้นหลิวที่เกิดขึ้นเองตามธรรมชาติบริเวณนั้น แต่ว่ากันว่าก็เป็นคำเดียวกันกับคำลับที่ใช้เรียกโจรขโมยข้าวสารในสมัยก่อนด้วยเช่นกัน เนื่องจากบริเวณนี้เคยถูกใช้เป็นท่าขนข้าวลงเรือ เมื่อสบช่องพวกหัวขโมยก็มักจะลักลอบเข้ามาใช้กระบอกไม้ไผ่ทิ่มเข้าไปในกระสอบเพื่อให้ข้าวสารไหลออกมา พอเจ้าของข้าวสารมาเห็นเข้าก็จะตะโกนให้คนงานรู้กันด้วยคำว่า ‘เย่หลิว’ เป็นที่มาของชื่อสถานที่แห่งนี้ ว่ากันอย่างนั้น แต่บางคนก็ว่าที่นี่มีชื่อเรียกอีกอย่างว่า ‘แหลมปีศาจ’ ที่มีความหมายตรงกับคำในภาษาสเปนว่า Punto Diablos
เย่หลิวนั้นมีลักษณะเป็นแหลมยื่นออกไปในทะเล ถ้าวัดจากทางเข้าจนถึงปลายสุดจะมีความยาวประมาณ 1.5 กิโลเมตร ในวันที่ฟ้าใสที่นี่จะงดงามมาก ท้องฟ้าสีน้ำเงินเข้มตัดกับสีน้ำตาลอ่อนของพื้นหินสวยงามจับตาอย่าบอกใคร แต่ก็แอบกระซิบนิดหนึ่งว่า พอฟ้าใสมากๆ แดดก็จะร้อนและเหงื่อกระจายได้เหมือนกัน ทางที่ดีอย่าลืมพกหมวกติดตัวไปด้วยจะดีที่สุด ส่วนแบตเตอรี่และเมมโมรี่ของอุปกรณ์สื่อสารก็เตรียมไปเสียให้พอ คาดว่าคุณอาจจะต้องใช้เยอะเลยทีเดียว
Note: • การเดินทางจากกรุงไทเปไปเย่หลิว สามารถเดินทางโดยให้เริ่มต้นที่สถานี MRT Taipei Main Station จากนั้นค่อยโผล่ขึ้นมาหา Taipei West Bus Station ซื้อตั๋วแล้วเดินทางไป ใช้เวลาเดินทางประมาณ 1 ชั่วโมง • หากคุณเที่ยวแบบธรรมชาติ ในไทเปและบริเวณใกล้ๆ ยังมีสถานที่ที่น่าสนใจอีกหลายแห่ง อาทิ หยางหมิงซัน เขาซงซาน จิ่วเฟิ่น • สายการบินที่สามารถพาคุณบินตรงจากรุงเทพฯ ไปถึงไทเปได้ง่ายดาย อาทิ China Airlines, Air Hong Kong, TrainsAsia Airways, EVA Airways, Tiger Air
