Khun Pichet Klunchun, an actor of Thai dance performing art who support and preserve on Thai culture, shares with DIN
on his attitude and vision.

What is your inspiration on dance performing art?
Actually, I have no inspiration. It is how to find a space of myself for calm down or something that I trust in. When people asked about inspiration, almost children said “I want to be Prime Minister” or “I want to be an athlete” that because they have an idol who makes them an inspiration. But Thai dance performing art has nobody.

When you close your eyes and think of the theatres. You might remind to the familiar theatres that have the beautiful backdrop and the performers at front stage. But in the past a few years, Theatres in Thailand were developed to several types and one of these theatres was The Centerpoint Studio. The Centerpoint Studio is a talk of the town as a modern theatre studio with production facilities and hosting many famous concerts venue. When audience and theater producer seeing the show, however the aspects and enjoyments are not quite the same. I have no longer enjoyed the premier show as much as especially when I am a part of a production. When I can not cook, I never care what the chef put the ingredients into or how to cook it. Soon as I learn to cook, every time when eating I can differentiate the ingredients, the techniques and can focus on your taste buds. As the same when I see the show, many 
times my eyes catch every detail of its visual till I ignoring my ears if not a stageplay or a concert. But the show like Cirque du Soleil is an exception, it’s ok to use your eyes more than ears (excluding of “The Immortal and The Beatles LOVE”). But for the stageplay if you use your eyes more than ears you might need to see it again.

The performing designer—Stage Design, Concert Design, or any Performance, is not differ from architect. There are the same in design process but in some criteria of evaluations make the different. When architect designs a restaurant, he begins with researches and studies to design a suitable restaurant for all users. To compare for easy understanding, we can conclude the roles of teamwork as;

“Finger” was drawing equipment. I draw on Notebook’s mouse pad by using application “Scribbler Too”. The program built a connection line as Eiffel Tower structure, therefore I try to sketch it with the application. It’s amazing application, you can adjust size of the connection lines. The strokes of lines make a feeling as a pencil or pen sketch. By dragging finger move back and forth, you will enjoy and pleasant with it.
